Feel free to stop by anytime between 9:00 and 10:30 am. We will be meeting each Tuesday throughout the summer. No RSVP necessary. Children and friends are welcome. Monkey Paws is located in the Publix plaza on SR70 and Lakewood Ranch Boulevard. Any questions, please contact Patricia McKeithen at 737-3635 OR patricia@mckeithen.net .

THE AFRICAN CHILDREN’S CHOIR TO PERFORM IN ST. PETERSBURG

On Wednesday, July 1st at 7 pm the African Children’s Choir will perform at Christ United Methodist Church in St. Petersburg. The 28 children in this group are from Uganda and will present a 70 minute concert of singing, dancing, drumming and showing views of their lives in Uganda. All who have heard any African Children’s Choirs before know of the not-to-be-missed opportunity that this concert and their visit brings. The address of the church is 467 1st Ave N, St. Petersburg, near the St. Pete City Hall. Admission is free. An offering will be taken and African Children’s Choir products will be available.

Bring your musicians, families, youth groups to experience the African Children’s Choir 2009. These children bring sounds of hope and joy for us all.

SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL SERVANT TEACHERS NEEDED

You could make a difference in the life of children this summer! How? By serving as a Sunday School Servant Teacher! This opportunity enables you to plant and nurture seeds of faith by sharing your love of God with children. You don't have to be a Bible whiz or have all the answers. What our children really need are people filled with hearts of love for God and a willingness to journey with them in faith. Our curriculum suggests several activities to choose from each week, so you select the ones you are most comfortable with and that you think the children will enjoy. Summer Sunday School runs from June 7th - August 30th at 9 am and 10:30 am, allowing you to teach during one hour and worship during the other. Our goal is to create teaching teams of 3 - 4 servants for each classroom to accommodate everyone's vacation plans while still providing for our children's Christian education during the summer. Training will be provided and background checks are required as part of Harvest's Children & Youth Protection Policy. If you are interested in serving or have questions, please contact Caroline Anderberg at 907-7333 or canderberg@harvest-umc.

HARVEST WELCOMES PASTORAL INTERN

Summer is right around the corner at Harvest, and that signals it’s time for us to welcome a pastoral intern to the family. Juana Jordan, a first-year student at Emory University’s Candler School of Theology, will join us for 13 weeks, starting May 17 and ending August 9. Before going to seminary, Juana worked in the communications field for 15 years, mostly as a daily newspaper reporter and editor in Valdosta, Georgia and Tallahassee, Florida. While she’s with us this summer, Juana will preach a few times, lead small groups, visit hospitals and just learn more about ministry. Please join Steve, Catherine and the Staff-Parish Team in graciously welcoming Juana to Harvest.

VISITATION MINISTRY SUPPORTS PARISHIONERS, CAREGIVERS AND FAMILY MEMBERS

Harvest’s Visitation Ministry Team visits with individuals who are home bound, in skilled care facilities, or assisted living situations. Anyone with a family member or acquaintance who fits these criteria will be blessed by a regular visit by a friendly visiting team member. Primary caregivers also receive a welcome break to run errands or just rest and relax while someone else is visiting with their loved ones.

Anyone with a heart for this type of ministry and can visit an individual at least once every two weeks, is invited to join the team. Anyone aware of someone who would benefit by visitation, should contact Randy Robinson at 907-4253 or randyrob0716@gmail.com or Sandra Petrucci at 727-0578 or skprn@tampabay.rr.com.
