A Child Development Ministry of Harvest United Methodist Church

Philosophy

Our program reflects the church’s concern for children. With the guidance of qualified Christian teachers, the child’s spiritual, emotional, social, creative, cognitive, and physical development is nurtured. We hope to expand the world of the child through an informal education environment which includes friends in the community as well as the home and church.

Ages

Children must be two years old by September 1st and need not be potty trained.

Tuition and Fees

Yearly registration fee of $75 per child and first month’s tuition installment must accompany registration form and are non-refundable.

Tuition fees are 10 installments of $170 for Tuesday/Thursday (two days per week) and $230 for Monday/Wednesday/Friday (three days per week). VPK is tuition-free provided the child meets the VPK requirements. Tuition fees are due the first of every month or the first day the child is in school that month.

Arrival and Dismissal

Arrival of children is 9:00 am. Dismissal is at 12:00 pm, or 1:30pm if your child stays for the optional lunch extension.

School Calendar

Sprouts Child Development Center primarily follows the Manatee County school calendar. School begins in August and finishes in June.

Snacks and Lunch

Sprouts Child Development Center provides a well-balanced daily snack. Our healthy selection and variety follow the guidelines from National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). Sprouts Child Development Center does not provide the meal for the optional lunch-time extension.

Class Size

Sprouts Child Development Center has 10-12 children per class depending on ages. There are two qualified Christian teachers per class, one lead teacher and one assistant.

Curriculum

Sprouts’ curriculum allows for a dynamic and creative program. It is child-driven, age appropriate, and multi-sensory. Our curriculum has Christian components including daily prayer, occasional Bible stories, and monthly chapel. We promote literacy and mathematics through every day classroom activities and experiment in early science concepts. We offer enrichment activities including Spanish and music lessons. The curriculum also provides time for open-ended art projects for self-expression. The end result is kindergarten readiness.
