Office Administrator Charlotte Wright

I am called to be a part of Harvest, whether as a staff member or a member of the congregation.

God had prepared me for this experience, both spiritually and practically.

When I moved from Ohio to Florida 11 years ago, I had just taken Disciple I. From that small group experience my faith was renewed and deepened. For the first time, I knew deep inside I was a part of the Kingdom of God here on earth.

Upon moving to Bradenton, after a few starts and stops with church shopping, my ears perked up when I heard a Methodist church was starting up near where I lived. The church I had last attended before I moved to Florida had been fairly young, about 10-13 years old. While there I had heard the stories of its beginning. I admired that the church intentionally kept alive the passion and ideals with which it started.

So, the idea of being part of a new church start here in Florida appealed to me. God had prepared me for this. I was going to see the Kingdom of God expanding in a fabulous way. I knew early on that Harvest had a passion and an ideal that honored God. I liked that. And I wanted to help wherever I could. Just like those church friends talked about in my old church home in Ohio.

At that time I was a stay-at-home mom, so I was able to carve out large chunks of time to help Harvest in the early days. My organizational skills were put to use, too.Soon, my life revolved around Harvest.  Whether working in the office, delivering gifts to first time guests, teaching Sunday school, or leading Disciple or other small groups.

When I was asked if I would like to be on staff at Harvest, I felt like God was giving me a chance to work on God’s professional team. It is a privilege to be on staff here. I believe I am able to accomplish more here through the grace of God than in any other field of work.

My faith continues to grow. And I am sharing my faith with others, whether in the organized setting of a small group or out at the Hospitality Hub chatting with one of the Office Partners.

The Kingdom of God is at hand.

Amen.
