Ministry for Middle and High School Aged Youth

Sunday Night Connection

Come for Food and Fun

If you are a 6th-12th grader you won’t want to miss our Sunday night youth program known as HY5. We meet Sunday nights from 5-7:30 PM. You’ll have lots of fun hanging out with other Harvest youth playing games (from basketball to nine square), worshipping and participating in small groups.

Enjoy dinner for just $3. You are welcome to bring a friend. See you on Sunday!

Wanted: Dinner Hosts

An integral part of our HY5 time is dinner. Each week a volunteer cooks or buys a simple dinner and serves it to the youth at 5:30. Val Funk coordinates this every week. We will be catering a few meals in July to give our volunteers a break, but will need 20 people (or pairs of people if you want to share a Sunday) to fill the calendar through December. If you are willing to provide snack supper for one Sunday night, please contact Val Funk for more details at fsoccerboys@aol.com.

In addition, we would like to have a volunteer come each week to help set up dinner, serve dinner, clean up dinner, and set up chairs for worship. If you can spare one Sunday evening a year to be a part of this ministry contact Karen.

WANT TO HELP HY5

BUT JUST DON’T KNOW HOW?

Wow, have we got the volunteer opportunity for you! Our wonderful Youth Minister, Scott, could use some administrative help! We would like to setup a volunteer system similar to the Office Partners at Harvest and we are calling them HY5 Helpers.

There is the normal office paperwork to be done, etc. - copying, filing, weekly deposits, Servant Keeper Updates, and enrollment tracking. Then we have those one time projects like mission trips, fish fry, retreats, summer camp and other events that the youth do once or twice a year. We have creative opportunities like web page suggestions, creating forms, and redesigning our current youth room. These are just some areas that Scott needs help with. Hours are extremely flexible and the rewards will be a better organized youth program that will help our youth grow in their love of God.

If you have the heart for our youth but feel teaching is not your thing and organizing is, come join us! Contact Beth Jones to sign up or for more information. Home phone 752-9552, cell 320-6274, or e-mail flbeachbeth@msn.com.

Sunday School HY5 Style

We hope all of you are enjoying another exciting year in Sunday school. We're doing some great things to make Sunday School bigger and better than ever before. Why not come check it out? We have classes for both Middle School and High School students. Don’t miss a great time to be with your friends and check out more of God’s word every Sunday at 9:00 and 10:30a.m.

E-mail

If you are not currently receiving e-mails from HY5 please send your e-mail address to hy5@harvest-umc.org or call 907-7333. This is a great way to receive updates about the latest HY5 news.
