Sprouts Child Development Center’s mission is sprouting the seeds of faith and educating the whole child while celebrating individuality.

Philosophy

Our program reflects the church’s concern for children. Under the guidance of qualified Christian teachers, the child’s spiritual, emotional, social, creative, cognitive, and physical development is nurtured. We hope to expand the world of the child through an informal education environment which includes friends in the community as well as the home and church.

Program Description

Sprouts Child Development Center is a ministry of Harvest United Methodist Church and serves children from age two through pre-kindergarten. It is a part-time program from 8:55 am – 12:10 pm with two session choices. There is an optional extension for lunch until 1:10 pm. We offer a two day/week or a three day/week program . Sprouts CDC is licensed by the state.

Ages

Children must be two years old by September 1st and need not be potty trained.

Yearly registration fee of $50 per child must accompany registration form and is nonrefundable. Tuition fees are 10 installments of $160 for
Tuesday/Thursday (two days per week) and $220 for Monday/Wednesday/Friday (three days per week). Tuition fees are due the first of every month or the first day the child is in school that month.

School Calendar

Sprouts CDC follows the Manatee County school calendar. School begins in August and finishes in May.

Snacks and Lunch

Sprouts CDC provides a well-balanced daily snack. Guidelines from National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) are followed as to healthy selections and variety. Sprouts CDC does not provide the lunch meal for the optional lunch time extension.

Class size

Sprouts CDC has 10 – 12 children per class depending on ages. There are two teachers per class, one lead teacher and one assistant.

Curriculum

Sprouts’ curriculum allows for a dynamic and creative program. It is child driven, age appropriate, and multi-sensory. Our curriculum is Christian inclusive through daily prayer, occasional Bible stories, and chapel time. We promote literacy and mathematics through every day classroom activities and experiment in early science concepts. We offer enrichment activities including cooking, Spanish and music lessons. The curriculum also provides time for open-ended art projects for self-expression. The end result is kindergarten readiness.
